FR633 - Enable Profile
The new Enable Profile command allows the User to write an AutoChart Profile Dictionary to an existing longitudinal profile within a chart or drawing. The profile dictionary holds the information that relates the position of the profile within the drawing to its real world Kp and depth extents and needs to be present in order for AutoChart to be able to add further relative data (such as sub bottom profile data) to the longitudinal profile. The Enable profile command creates the profile dictionary for longitudinal profiles that have been created without AutoChart or that have lost this information during the charting process.
The Enable Profile command should be run from within the drawing that has the required profile to be enabled.
The Route Identifier and Chart Number should be entered so that they match with the existing Plan View UCS name (if necessary, the Enable Chart Utility can be used to assign a Plan View UCS to a chart that does not have it). Using the Audit Drawing option will run the AutoCAD Audit command on the drawing to correct any possible drawing errors. The Chart Type should be selected along with the profile Kp direction - Ascending for Kps that run from Left to Right on the profile and Descending for Right to Left.
Each profile sub-panel needs to be enabled individually so the Profile Panel Extents of the sub-panels should be specified along with the Profile Panel Letter, Location and Number. The Panel letter refers to Cable Alignment Type Profile Panels where the plan view and profile boxes are split at each alter course point along the Route, with a being the first sub-panel, b the second sub-panel, etc. Panel Location refers to the number of Profile boxes per chart and should be set to Top, Bottom, Middle, Upper or Lower accordingly. Sub-Panel Number is used where a profile may have been cut and repositioned where the profile cannot fit within the vertical limits of the panel. If the profile has not been split then the Sub-Panel number will always be 1.
Two known Kp points should be selected within the profile and their respective Kp values entered and similarly two known depth points on the profile should be chosen. Note that depth values should be entered as negative values. The values can also be entered by selecting the required Text entities within the drawing.
When the command is run, the AutoChart dictionary is presented on the command line and written to the drawing as an AutoChart object within the drawing.
