As part of the new Installation process and to ensure compatibility with Windows Vista User Access Control (UAC) restrictions, AutoChart Support Folders that may need to be written to have been moved out of the AutoChart Program Files Installation folder. This affects the Custom Format Folder, the Symbols Folder and the Demo Data Folder. The default location for these AutoChart Support Files is set to C:\AutoChart, but the User has the opportunity to modify this location if required during the AutoChart Installation Process:

The Directory Preferences Command  now includes an option to set the location of the Formats folder.

This allows the User to set a new location for the formats folder if it has been moved from the original installed location. Note, the Sub Folders of the Formats Directory (whatever its name or location) MUST be named Events, Profile, Route, Soundings and Track in order for the relevant AutoChart commands to display the format types contained within.
