GIS Application Developer
We are looking for a GIS Application Developer to work on existing
and new products in our UK office.
Job Description
This role is primarily responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing our Geographical Information Systems (GIS) service to our clients, through our Desktop products AutoChart, VisualGIS and HydroGIS.
The developer will have full life cycle involvement, from requirement analysis through to deployment of GIS application solutions. Day to day activities will include envisioning, designing and developing solutions using Microsoft, ESRI, Bentley and Autodesk technologies. To be considered, you will need to demonstrate strong development experience in the .NET Framework as well as at least one of the following APIs: ArcObjects, AutoCAD or MicroStation.
Future development plans include migration of our desktop products to web applications, creating the opportunity to develop knowledge of this technology.
Requirements
• Proven Experience of Windows programming with the .NET Framework and Visual Studio 2010
• Solid Knowledge of ESRI's ArcObjects and/or AutoCAD’s and MicroStation’s APIs
• Degree/HND in computer science, geography, surveying, or a GIS-related field
• Ability to clearly analyse/describe a problem and propose a solution
• Excellent problem solving, design, development, and debugging skills
• Ability to work with a team in a constantly challenging environment
• Visual Studio Team System experience is desirable
